One dead in fatal collision in Kelowna
An investigation has been launched into a motor vehicle crash in Kelowna that resulted in the death of a local man.
Kelowna RCMP Municipal Traffic Services and the B.C. Coroners Service are running the investigation into the fatal collision, which occurred at the intersection of Richter St. and Doyle Ave.
Mounties, Kelowna Fire Department and B.C. Emergency Health Services responded to the collision shortly before 1 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 24. They determined that a white Chevrolet Malibu was travelling southbound on Richter St. when it crossed into oncoming traffic lanes and struck a light standard.
The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 37-year-old man from Kelowna, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. In order to protect the privacy of the deceased, no further information will be released.
