Environment Canada is warning commuters that snow is expected to fall near the Coquihalla Summit overnight and through Wednesday.
A special weather statement issued Tuesday states that an estimated 10 to 20 centimetres of snow is expected to fall.
Environment Canada states that a westerly flow system will bring snow mixed at times with with rain at the summit, and change to rain at lower elevations of the route. This rain could effect the exact amount of snow accumulation at the Summit by Wednesday evening.
Motorists are advised to be cautious as the weather in mountains can change suddenly, creating hazardous driving conditions. People are encouraged to check conditions at Drive BC prior to getting on the road.
