Canadian Pacific Railway (CP) has crews working “around the clock” to repair infrastructure damaged by flooding and mudslides in order to restore the rail corridor between Kamloops and Vancouver.

In a release Friday, CP stated that “progress is being made with approximately 20 separate sections of track across this region already cleared or repaired.”

With work scheduled throughout the weekend, it’s expected that service will be restored mid-week barring any unforseen issues.

Meanwhile, CP said they are working with local and provincial officials, including the Ministry of Transportation, to coordinate the delivery of critical materials, equipment and food while this work is being done.

It’s also noted that work is being done to assist with getting highways reopened as soon as it’s deemed safe to do so.
