UPDATE: Body found in Kelowna park

Kelowna RCMP has turned the investigation of a body of a man found in a park by Sutherland and Birch Monday morning, over to the Coroner.

Police say he was from Kelowna, 52 years old, and his death is not considered suspicious.

RCMP are investigating after a man was found dead in a Kelowna park.

Police responded to a park in 1500 block of Sutherland Avenue and Birch Avenue around 8:15 this morning where the body was located.

“Members of the Kelowna RCMP Serious Crime Unit along with the BC Coroners Service are on scene assisting with the investigation,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb, media relations officer.

Several police vehicles were on scene this morning, with a nearby porta-potty cordoned off.

Lobb said more information will be released when it becomes available.
