Canada is joining the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and other countries in a growing diplomatic boycott of the Beijing Winter Olympics.
It means Canada won’t send government ministers to the games in a protest over China’s human rights abuses.
Athletes will still be able to compete in the event which runs from Feb. 4 to 20.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canada is “extremely concerned” about China’s human rights abuses and has been discussing the matter with allies.
