Winter storm watch issued for Okanagan
More snow is coming to the Okanagan Valley.
Environment Canada issued a winter storm watch today, as a slow moving winter storm is making its way across southern B.C.
The storm is expected to reach the Okanagan Tuesday night, bringing with it an unknown amount of snowfall.
The weather agency notes that the higher elevations will see the heaviest snowfall, creating adverse road conditions and impacting visibility.
The public is advised to prepare themselves by having emergency kits and plans. Details on what should go into a kit can be found at Canada’s Get Prepared website.
Environment Canada also warns that the storm could create traffic delays, and asks that people check road conditions at DriveBC before getting behind the wheel, and to slow down and allow for extra travel time.
