Olivia, Liam top B.C. baby names in 2021

Olivia has once again secured the top spot in baby names in British Columbia.

Preliminary figures from the Vital Statistics Agency have found that Olivia topped the chart as the top pick for newborn names between Jan. 1 and Dec. 15, 2021.

Olivia was followed by Liam, Noah, Jack, Emma, Benjamin, Theodore, Oliver and Charlotte.

Olivia and Liam were the top two names in 2020 as well, though they were followed by Oliver, Noah, Lucas, Emma, Theodore, Benjamin, Ethan and Charlotte.

Between Jan.1 and Dec. 15, 2021, there were 40,333 babies born in B.C. Comparatively, 2020 saw 42,413 births in B.C.
