Two communities northeast of Salmon Arm evacuated due to wildfire

An evacuation order was issued by the Columbia Shuswap Regional District Saturday (July 31) evening.
The communities of Queest Village and Pete Martin Bay – northeast of Salmon Arm – are evacuated due to the 1,700-hectare Crazy Creek Gorge FSR wildfire.
The district said there is limited commercial lodging available. Residents who can’t stay with family or friends are asked to report to the Best Western in Sicamous at 806 Trans Canada Highway.
