Garage and house damaged in fire

A West Kelowna home was damaged by a fire Sunday morning.

West Kelowna Fire Rescue responded to reports of a vehicle on fire with extensions to a structure in the 3400 block of Rosedale Place.around 11:00 a.m.

“First arriving crews found a two-story home with a working fire in the garage. Crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire and confine it to the garage area. The house has significant smoke damage,” said Lionel Bateman from the department.

Of the two occupants, one suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation.

Bateman said the fire is not suspicious in nature.
