Okanagan curlers to represent B.C. at national events
Jeff Richard’s team won the 2022 B.C. Men’s Curling Championship at the Kamloops Curling Club.
Richard of Kelowna, the third, joined with skip Brent Pierce (Royal City Curling Club), Jared Kolamaya at second and Nicholas Meister at lead, to defeat Paul Cseke and his rink from Victoria 9-8 in Sunday’s final.

Richard, who has been the Brier two times before, knocked out nine-time B.C. champion Jim Cotter from the Okanagan 7-5 in Saturday’s semi final.
Richard will be representing the province at the Tim Hortons Brier, March 4-13, In Lethbridge, Alberta.

In the women’s event, 14-time Nova Scotia champion, Mary-Anne Arsenault, who now calls Lake Country home, led her team to an 8-6 win over Vancouver’s Kayla MacMillan in the final.
Arsenault’s teammates include Kelowna residents Jeanna Schraeder at third, second Sasha Carter and lead Renee Simons and fifth player Morgan Muise.
Arsenault, who is a five-time Canadian champion and a two-time world winner, will now represent B.C. at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts Canadian championships Jan. 28 – Feb. 6 in Thunder Bay, Ont.
