Lake Country woman planning for vacation after Lotto Max win

Darryl Brown of Lake Country is the area’s newest millionaire after winning a $1-million Maxmillions prize.

Speaking to the British Columbia Lottery Corporation, Brown says when she checked her ticket for the June 11 Lotto Max draw, she couldn’t believe what she saw.

“I showed my husband and he said ‘someone is messing with you! This can’t be real!’ He still doesn’t completely believe it,” she told the BCLC.

In the short term, Brown plans to celebrate her win with friends of family, but the winnings will also be going to checking off some bucket-list destinations, with Amsterdam being the first place she would like to visit. Brown also plans to use some winnings to help out her family.

Brown purchased her ticket at the 7-Eleven on 39th Ave. in Vernon.
