UPDATE: Man arrested to end police incident

Police took a man into custody following an incident in Kelowna’s North Mission area
RCMP officers responded to a report of a disturbance among occupants at a residence in the 600-block of Tomby Court just before noon.
“There was no threat to public safety and the incident was isolated to the residence,” said media relations officer Cpl. Tammy Lobb.
Lobb said an incident commander, crisis negotiators and the emergency response team all helped to resolve the incident peacefully with one man taken into custody.
The investigation is ongoing.

RCMP are advising of a heavy police presence in an area of Kelowna.
Police responded to a report of an incident at a residence in the 600-block of Tomby Court in the North Mission area around 11:45 a.m. today.
“The Kelowna RCMP is asking the public and media to refrain from posting photos of our officers on scene. Motorists should avoid this area if possible,” said Cpl. Tammy Lobb, media relations officer.
Lobb said more information will be released once it becomes available.
