Interior Health records 171 new COVID-19 cases
Interior Health continues to host the highest number of new daily COVID-19 cases after 171 were recorded on August 4.
The cases make up a majority of the 342 recorded across British Columbia on Wednesday.
There are now 945 active cases in the Interior Health region, and 1,764 active province-wide.
There were no new COVID-19 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours.
There are four COVID outbreaks in the Interior Health region, all at long-term care centres. The affected centres are the Nelson Jubilee Manor, Kootenay Street Village, Cottonwoods Care Centre and Brookhaven Care Centre.
The B.C. government is reporting that, as of Wednesday, 81.5 per cent of eligible people aged 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and 67.9 per cent have received their second jab.
A total of 6,931,815 vaccine doses have been administered in B.C. to date.
