A hearing to determine the admissibility of evidence on a charge of assaulting a peace officer has wrapped up in Vernon provincial court.

Vernon Matters has reached out to the B.C. Prosecution Service for the outcome of the ‘voir dire’ hearing after the defence challenged the validity of a police search warrant used to arrest Curtis Sagmoen.

Sagmoen, born in 1980, is facing the charge for an alleged assault on a female police officer in Spallumcheen in October 2020.

His trial is expected to begin Tuesday, March 1, and is scheduled for four days of court time (Mar. 1, 2,7 and 8).
