British Columbia’s COVID-19 Rapid Test Kit program is now open to all residents age 30 and over.

Eligible residents can visit a participating pharmacy and pick up a free kit containing five rapid antigen COVID-19 tests.

People are able to get one kit every 28 days.

Individuals who want to get a kit will need to present their personal health number at the pharmacy. Anyone picking up a kit on behalf of another person must be able to provide that individual’s name, personal health number and date of birth.

People are advised to pick up the kits when they are not sick, and to only use the tests when they have symptoms of COVID-19.

As of March 17, almost 7.6 million tests have been shipped to pharmacy distributors with more than 2.3 million rapid tests dispensed through the more than 1,300 participating pharmacies.

B.C. is expecting to receive more than 2.5 million tests from the federal government in the next few weeks.
