Kelowna school evacuated following reported threats

An elementary school in Kelowna was evacuated following an alleged threat.

RCMP responded to Quigley Elementary School to investigate the reported threat shortly before noon today (April 4).

“We take these calls very seriously, and we are committing our resources to ensure the safety of the children and our community,” said Inspector Beth McAndie, the Investigative Services Officer for Kelowna RCMP.

Mounties have not disclosed the nature of the threat, which remains under investigation.

School administrators had the parents of the students picked up from a nearby safe location.

School is expected to resume as usual Tuesday.
