Teams search park for missing boy
A search for a lost boy in Kelowna had police and search rescue volunteers involved in the hunt.
Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) was called out around 10:00 p.m. Wednesday (May 25) to look for the 11-year old near Mission Creek Park and Springfield Road.
“The boy’s family had searched for two hours before calling RCMP, who did a preliminary investigation and then called COSAR,” said a news release from the search team.
Nearly 30 volunteer members showed up including members of the e-bike team and K9 team.
COSAR started searching the park and greenway while fanning out to other areas the youngster was known to frequent.
He was located just before midnight when attempting to make contact with an acquaintance.
COSAR has been busy of late, as this was the group’s seventh call in the last nine days.
