The B.C. River Forecast Centre is upgrading Mission Creek’s High Streamflow Advisory to a Flood Watch.
The centre said the wet weather observed throughout the region over the past 24 hours has increased the flows near East Kelowna to 56 metres squared as of Monday morning.
Depending on the rainfall through the day, the agency said the flow could increase to between 80 and 100 m3/s by Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a flood watch remains in effect for the South Thompson River, including Shuswap Lake.
The public is advised to stay clear of fast-flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks.
