Gas prices drop below $2 in Vernon, higher in Kelowna

Motorists are welcoming slightly lower gas prices, with most stations in Vernon now selling regular unleaded for under $2 a litre.
Gasoline prices in Canada starting dropping last week after a decrease in crude oil prices that analysts said could be connected to fears about a recession. However, crude prices have gone up the last two business days, now over $106 per barrel.
The prices in Vernon are down 4 cents from last week to an average of $1.99.9 a litre, which is 47 cents higher than the average one year ago, according to gasbuddy.com.
The lowest prices are at the Super Saves on 32nd and 27th Streets, both at $1.95.9.
A Tempo outlet on Mabel Lake Road in Enderby is among B.C.’s cheapest price at $1.93.9.
It’s not the same in Kelowna where the average price as of 1:00 p.m. today was $2.07.9, down 2 cents per litre from last week.
British Columbia’s average price is $2.02.6, which is down 18 cents from last month.
The province’s lowest gas price is in Port Hardy on Vancouver Island at $1.79.9, followed by two stations in Abbotsford at $1.89.9.
