Structure fire extinguished in Kelowna

Kelowna Fire Department put out a small fire at a residence Friday afternoon.
Crews were dispatched to a house in the 2100 block of Lynrick Road today (July 22) at around 2:45 p.m.
Moderate smoke was coming from the eaves of the structure, and crews entered the house and discovered a small fire in the attic area, which was quickly extinguished.
The damage was contained to the roof structure.
The residence was being renovated at the time and the cause of the fire has been deemed accidental.
No one was injured.
The Kelowna Fire Department is reminding people that working smoke alarms save lives and advises that batteries be replaced and alarms be tested regularly.
