Passenger numbers have bounced back in a big way at the Kelowna Airport.

Invest Kelowna says over 770,000 people used YLW in the first six months of this year.

That’s up 311 per cent, or 583,000 passengers, from the same period in 2021 when Covid-19 was still keeping people from flying.

This year’s numbers are still well below the pace set in 2019 when over 2 million passengers used YLW.

The figures are contained in an economic indicators report from the Central Okanagan Economic Development Commission. Click here to view the report.

The report also said population has grown 2.6 per cent, or 5,700 people, in the Kelowna Central Metropolitan Area between 2020 and 2021, to 229,400.
