Some Keremeos Creek wildfire evacuations lifted

Some of the evacuated residents from the Keremeos Creek wildfire have been allowed to go home as crews continue to make progress.
The Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen said 54 properties from Twin Lakes to north of Olalla were taken off the order today (Aug. 10) and are now on evacuation alert.

There are still about 500 evacuated properties, with another 900 on alert.
The fire, located 21 kilometres southwest of Penticton, is estimated at 6,712 hectares.
