Police have identified two people found dead near Penticton last month.

Alanna Brown and Douglas Barker, both of Penticton and both 30 years old, were found deceased by members of the Summerland Fire Department who were responding to a fire on a road next to the Penticton Shooting Range at 1797 Highway 97 on Sept. 15, 2022.

Police are treating the deaths as suspicious.

“We have learned that both Brown and Barker were last seen on Sept. 14, the day before their bodies were discovered,” Supt. Sanjay Wijayakoon from the B.C. RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit said. “The B.C. RCMP Serious Crime Unit knows there are people who saw Ms. Brown and Mr. Barker in the days leading up to their deaths and we are urging them to speak with police.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact the South East District Major Crimes Unit’s tipline at 1-877-987-8477.
