Fourteen COVID-19 deaths in Interior Health, 768 new cases
British Columbia had 1,711 new COVID-19 cases over the weekend, with 45 per cent of those in Interior Health (IH).
The IH region had 768 new infections and now has over 1,900 active cases.
The next busiest region is Fraser Health with 419 new cases and 1,194 active cases.
Sixteen more people have died of the virus since Friday, with 14 of those in the Interior. The other deaths were in Island and Fraser Health.
The breakdown of new cases provincially is as follows:
* Aug. 20-21: 724 new cases
* Aug. 21-22: 545 new cases
* Aug. 22-23: 442 new cases
There are 5,056 active cases of COVID-19 in the province with 133 people in hospital and 80 in intensive care.
From Aug. 10-17, fully vaccinated residents accounted for 13 per cent of cases and 11 per cent of hospitalizations.

Unvaccinated: 2,620 (71 per cent)
Partially vaccinated: 583 (16 per cent)
Fully vaccinated: 498 (13 per cent)
Hospitalizations (Aug. 10-16):
Unvaccinated: 95 (84 per cent)
Partially vaccinated: six (5 per cent)
Fully vaccinated: 12 (11 per cent)
There have been three new health-care facility outbreaks at Peace Arch Hospital (Fraser Health), Sun Pointe Village and Hardy View Lodge (Interior Health). The outbreak at Evergreen Baptist Care Society (Fraser Health) has been declared over, for a total of 13 active outbreaks, including:
More than 7.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C., with 83.2 per cent of eligible people 12 and older, getting one dose and 74.9 per cent getting two doses.

· Nelson Jubilee Manor has five cases: two residents and three staff, with two deaths connected to the outbreak.
· Kootenay Street Village in Cranbrook has three cases: one resident and two staff.
· Brookhaven Care Centre in West Kelowna has 30 cases: 10 residents and 20 staff, with two deaths connected to the outbreak.
· Cottonwoods Care Centre long-term care in Kelowna has 27 cases: 16 residents and 10 staff, with three deaths connected to the outbreak.
· Hawthorn Park assisted/independent living in Kelowna has five cases: one resident and four staff.
· David Lloyd Jones long-term care in Kelowna has 49 cases: 38 residents and 11 staff, with three deaths connected to the outbreak.
· Village at Mill Creek assisted living/independent living in Kelowna has three cases: two residents and one staff.
· Nicola Meadows assisted living/independent living in Merritt has seven cases: four residents and three staff, with one death connected to the outbreak.
· Hardy View Lodge long-term care in Grand Forks has two cases: one resident and one staff.
