There was no update from police on the weekend after they said they were searching for the owner of a significant amount of cash that was found downtown. A couple picked it up on the sidewalk in the 1300 block of Ellis street on October 15. If the owner wants it back they have to identify how much was there.

FortisBC and BC Hydro residential and commercial customers will receive a one-time cost-of-living credit on their electricity bills courtesy of the Province. Residential customers can expect to receive a $100 credit on their electricity bill over the next three months depending on the billing schedule. It’ll be about 500 for commercial.

While Canadians are expected to rein in their shopping lists this holiday season due to rising prices, experts agree they still appear willing to open their wallets for toys. Retail analyst Bruce Winder says toys are the last thing you cut back on if you have kids. He thinks parents will be bargain hunting and looking for more economical ways to put presents under the tree.

BC’s new premier says a new public safety plan for the province includes more mental health response teams and an increased focus on tackling repeat offenders. David Eby says the plan will include response teams comprised of police, prosecutors and probation officers. They will focus on repeat offenders, as well as an increased number of mental health response teams that can serve more communities.

Everyone got booted out of Orchard Park Mall Saturday afternoon when the lights went out. The power clicked off just after 2 and all the stores closed and locked their doors. Without saying what the problem was, Fortis said the power was restored about 4:30.

The BC Centre for Disease Control says people with Covid no longer have to self-isolate. However, the agency says it’s still important for people with symptoms to stay home as much as possible to reduce any potential spread until symptoms have improved. It says to consider how you manage other illnesses that you do not get tested for like cold and flu.

BC’s Elizabeth May is once again the leader of the Green Party in Canada. She will serve alongside Jonathan Pednault in the co-leadership model they agreed to during the campaign. 22,000 party members were eligible to cast votes and 8,000 did. May, who’s now 68, led the party from 2006 to 2019.

The prime minister and seven cabinet ministers are set to appear before the Emergencies Act inquiry this week. It has already heard from more than 60 witnesses as it weighs whether the government was justified in using the act to respond to Freedom Convoy protests. The head of CSIS and two others from the spy agency will also testify.

The company that makes Jack Daniels is howling mad over a squeaking dog toy that parodies the whiskey’s signature bottle. It has asked the US Supreme Court to hear its case against the manufacturer of the plastic Bad Spaniels toy. The toy’s maker says Jack Daniels can’t take a joke.

The Grey Cup is heading to Toronto after the Argos beat the Blue Bombers 24-23 yesterday in Regina.

A 7 point weekend from Andrew Cristall helped the Kelowna Rockets to a 10-3 win over Spokane and a 5-3 win against Tri Cities. Kelowna travels to Seattle on Wednesday.

The Rivalry Series was in Seattle yesterday and the US won their 3rd straight, beating Canada 4-2.

The Canucks have a 7:30 home game tonight against Vegas.

Monday Night Football has the 49ers taking on the Cardinals in Mexico City.

Adam Svensson won the RSM Classic becoming the 16th Canadian to win on the PGA Tour.
